Summary The development of dog breeding in Armenia is hindered by invasive diseases, of which leishmaniasis is the most common. As a result of studies, it was revealed that dog leishmaniasis is common in Yerevan and its environs, regardless of the conditions of animals and the time of year. More often, the disease is recorded in the winter and spring periods of the year, less often in the summer and not at all recorded in the fall. Dogs suffer from leishmaniasis regardless of age or breed. The highest percentage of infection is observed in 1-2- year-olds, then decreasing: in 2-3 and in animals up to one year old (only one recorded case). As the results of studies show, in thoroughbred dogs, unlike crossbred animals, the disease is recorded more often.

Keywords: vector-borne diseases, invasions, epizootology, diagnostics.
