Abstract. The article presents the results of experimental studies of the influence of the sowing period on the yield of winter rye in the conditions of the Sverdlovsk region. Sowing was carried out in the terms: August 5, 15, 25 and September 5. The object of the study is the variety of winter rye Parom, regionalized in the Sverdlovsk region. When studying the influence of sowing dates, a tendency was revealed to form a higher yield of rye when sowing in the second half of August, and earlier and later sowing in September showed a significant reduction in yields.
